Collaboration — Coordination Without EMAIL!
A Simple Example of Christmas Day Gathering Planning
Since January, I have been on a mission to reduce email — and I AM making a lot of progress!
This means leveraging other tools that make it far simpler (and efficient) than coordinating through email or texting threads!
Here is how we are doing our Christmas day planning this year
- Group messaging (via GroupMe)
- Ideas and questions coordinated via a Google Form
- MOBILE (gotta be mobile capable…)
Here is the view of the messaging app on a smartphone:
A link to the Google Form was posted as a message in GroupMe and everyone can click through to add their part or ask questions about the day. Via the form, they also have access to all the responses, so it is easy to determine if there is double-up, etc. and items need to change.
That’s it. Email is gone and we know have a friendly, more engaging and visible process!
