iOS Tip — Create a PDF from Web Page, On Your iPhone
Sometimes, you just want a permanent copy of a web page article. When I do, I create a PDF.
It’s handy if you want to annotate (mark up), share with others, or keep permanently. And it’s easy to do right on your iPhone — here’s how.
Install the Bookmarklet
Don’t be intimidated. Go to printfriendly.com and follow the instructions.
Go Create an Article!
Here’s how, step by step:
Here’s an article I want to convert to a PDF.
Just tap “Favorites” and select the PrintFriendly PDF bookmark (or whatever you named it!).
The process starts → tap the “PDF” icon to create the PDF.
Here’s your PDF. NOTE — this is NOT on your device yet. You are viewing the PDF in the Safari browser!
Select where you want the PDF to be saved — many different apps can handle the PDF format (iBooks, your PDF management apps, Evernote, Cloud storage, etc.). I will save to Evernote.
Name the note that you are posting to Evernote.
Here is the note in Evernote.
Open the note in Evernote. There is PDF document.
