iOS Tip — Manually Backup Your Device

Sometimes You Want to Backup NOW!

If you use iCloud to backup your iPhone or iPad, it typically happens automatically when the device is plugged in and not in use.

But sometimes we want to manually initiate a backup (such as I’m getting a new device tonight…).

There are two ways to do it:

Backup Now, Option #1

  • Access Settings

Locate Your Settings Icon and tap it
  • Tap your account information and tap iCloud

  • Scroll down to “iCloud Backup” and tap it. Tap “Back Up Now”

Backup Now, Option #2

  • Access Settings
  • Tap your account information area
  • Locate your device
