iOS Tip — Use Screen Recorder to Save A YouTube Video Clip
I’m expect that this has happened to you…
You watch a video on YouTube, Vimeo, etc. and you say “I just need a copy of that”. What now?
Fortunately, Apple made this very easy with iOS 11 by introducing the Screen Recorder functionality into the Control Center!
Here’s how I do it.
The Process — 3 Steps
1 — Capture the video (Screen Recorder)
2 — Edit the video (iMovie app)
3 — Compress the video (Video Slimmer app)
All done on the iPhone or iPad. Screenshots below are done from the iPad (just because it’s easier for me).
1 — Capture The Video
Once you have captured what you need, swipe up and turn off Screen Recording.
2 —Edit the Video
3 — Compress the Video
Save yourself some space — you will appreciate it down the road!
Now, store the video wherever you want. I tend to use Evernote for this, but that is entirely preference!
Last thing — obviously, this is for personal use only!
