SnapChat — How My Notifications Are Setup
Keep Notifications Minimal, But Be Aware
I have been using Snapchat for two years now. Professionally, a process that has developed is I use it frequently as a one-on-one and a one-to-many communication tool.
Why? It’s easier than email, texting and it’s much more personal. It has worked really well for me.
As a result, receiving notifications timely of direct messages is very important to me.
Here is my process, as indicated in the image above.
- The Snapchat app sits on my iPhone 📱 dock. Always visible.
- Set notifications for “Badge App Icon” only. This is the most subtle notification, but I know I will see it given the placement of the app.
That’s it.

I have had great success reducing email and texting with this approach and it demonstrates “thinking differently” that others appreciate.
