“They will simply be replaced…” Erik, you are dead on. Obsolete skills will — are — making people unemployable. I have worked with small businesses where employees are offered training / skill development opportunities and a portion of them are always “too busy” to participate.
And I have seen regret and fear when they lose their jobs and realize they are no longer relevant.
Until someone is “that person” who loses their job, the mindset is they are immune to it. It’s sad.
